Everyone likes a good foot massage so I have attached just that for you.

Feet are very important to the entire body.  The feet have many pressure points.  A reflexology massage is and hour foot massage.  Reflexology tells us that different regions of the feet that are directly related to parts of the body, organs and energy channels.  Here is a foot massage that anyone can do and your loved one will love you for it!

Eliminate headaches with a head massage naturally!

Before you reach for the Tylenol to eliminate your headache, lets try an all natural approach.   It is easier for someone else to massage you, however you can massage your own head and neck if necessary.  The best way to cure any physical pain is to search for the root of the pain.  Where does the problem start.

  • Do you have too much stress at work?
  • Are you carrying your child on the same shoulder every time?
  • Did you sleep wrong so your neck won’t turn in the morning?
  • Did you over exercise?
  • Did you engage in a heated conversation which has left you exhausted?

Physical pain can have an element of emotion attached to it.  The Tylenol will stop the nerve from sending the message to the brain that there is pain, however could be it stopping a message you need to hear.  Is the Tylenol causing side effects that you will have to address sooner or later.  I am not saying that pain medication is bad, I am saying to only take it when it is necessary.  If an emotional element is involved, sometimes the pill won’t help and the pain could increase because you have not targeted the source of the problem.  I will talk more about eliminating emotional pain later, however here are some things to help.

Getting to the massage!

  1. Sit in a comfortable position and place your hand on the head for about 10 seconds without doing anything.
  2. Take  your whole hand and move in a circular motion.  One hand at a time.
  3. Put an arch to your hand and only allow your finger tips to touch the head, once again move in a circular motion.  Increase the pressure in increments.
  4. If the person has hair, tug on the hair gently to stimulate the scalp.  (Increase circulation and hair growth) cover the whole head.
  5. Put your hands on their temples (the area above the ear), move in a circular motion gently. (most headaches originate here)
  6. Move to just in front of the ear, the muscle that keeps your jaw together and move in a circular motion as well.  (If you grind you teeth, have TMJ or have been hit recently, the headache could be here)
  7. Put your hands over the head again and move your hands in a circular motion.
  8. End with resting your hands on the head and move your hand away slowly.


There are several types of headaches that can be resolved through massage.  There are pressure points on the head and neck that can alleviate tension headaches as well and sinus headaches.  These pressure points reboot your computer (brain) and tell the nerves to stop sending the pain message.  The tension headaches can be caused by tight or pinched muscles in the head, neck or jaw.  Their can also be tight muscle in your upper back (trapezoid and or rhomboids) that will cause pain in back, neck and sometimes your head.  So if you want to eliminate the pain associated with these tight muscles, 90% of the time massaging the head, neck, jaw and upper back will take care of  this pain.

How would I start the massage?  Sometimes the way to start is by helping someone relax, this will make it easier for you to massage the muscles.  Have the person sit in a comfortable chair that has a low back.  Put on some soft music and lower the lighting in the room.  This will slow the person’s breathing and put them in a more meditate state.  The idea is to engage the parasympathetic nervous system – the rest and restore mechanism in your brain; this is where healing occurs.  Once you have the environment set, now it is time to do the work.

  1. The best place to start is to put your hands on the person’s head and take a deep breath yourself; if you are not in a relaxed position the other person will not be in a relaxed position.
  2. Apply some pressure to the person’s head and massage as if you are shampooing their hair.   Everyone loves the shampoo bowl!  Make sure that you cover the entire head, this helps the person reach a more meditative state.
  3. Place both hands on the neck and slide your hands down with a firm grip once.  Then you want to take one thumb and apply strokes from top to bottom of one side of the neck approximately 3 or 4 times.  Do the same thing with your other thumb to the other side of their neck.
  4. Place your hands on the person’s shoulders and give them a firm massage with both hands.  If you feel a knot, apply pressure to the knot and count to 10, then come off gentle while moving in a circle.  If the knot doesn’t go away, don’t worry, just move on and the knot will resolve itself in time.
  5. The last part is the face.  Apply feather strokes over with your finger tips over the forehead, nose and cheeks, and the chin.  Place your hands on either side of the person’s jaw, apply pressure and massage in circles.  Any tension in the jaw caused from headaches should subside. (This is also a good area to massage often if you grind your teeth, clinch your jaw or have TMJ).
